Annual World Rabbis Conference - 75 Since the passing Rav Kook zt”l.

The Annual World Rabbis Conference, organized by the Department for Religious Affairs in the Diaspora of the World Zionist Organization, will this year mark seventy-five years since the passing of Rabbi Avraham Yitzhak Hacohen Kook, the founder of the Chief Rabbinate, and the first Chief Rabbi of Israel.

Rabbi Yechiel Wasserman, head of the Department stated that this decision stems from a desire to raise the figure of Rabbi Kook, a figure that has the ability to lead us today as well.

The Conference will be”H take place in Tevet and will continue over three days. Beginning in Jerusalem, and continuing in Kibbutz Lavi, hundreds of rabbis from Israel and the Diaspora will be participating. The conference will focus on topics like: Kiruv and adopting those who are far off, inter-religion in an era of globalization, keeping Shabbat in an era of technological advancements, and Kashrut in an era of complex production. On the third day conference, there will be a tour of the Galilee under the heading "Water Resources of the State of Israel, Judaism, and the Environment in the Eye of Judaism”.

Mr. Yitzchak Shtiglitz, executive director of the department added that the organizational preparations for the conference are already underway, and many have reserved places at the conference.
